Royal Newlyweds Delay Honeymoon…For Now
Kate and William, now known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have announced that they will not leave on their honeymoon immediately, choosing instead to stay in London this weekend to continue the celebration with friends and family. William will return to work next week and it is expected that the couple will begin their honeymoon next weekend.
William, a search and rescue pilot in Angesley, Wales, has been granted two weeks leave from his job in order to enjoy his honeymoon. The destination of their honeymoon is a widely held secret and as we know from the secret of Kate’s wedding dress designer, this couple are quite good at keeping secrets.
That doesn’t stop well-wishers from speculating on the spot of the honeymoon, including suggestions that they will go to Scotland, Australia, Jordan, Greece, Africa, the Seychelles, and cruise around the Mediterranean Sea.
The Duke and Duchess were seen Saturday morning leaving Buckingham Palace via helicopter, hand in hand and lovely as ever.
Clarence House released this announcement, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen not to depart for a honeymoon immediately. Instead, after spending the weekend privately in the United Kingdom, The Duke will return to work as a Search and Rescue pilot next week. The locations of both their private weekend before The Duke returns to work and their future honeymoon, which will be overseas, will not be disclosed in advance. The Couple have asked that their privacy be respected during the coming weekend and during their honeymoon.”
