Kate a Copycat? No Way, Says KateMiddleton.com
Nearly two weeks after Kate and William exchanged vows and became the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, rumours are swirling that Kate copied the wedding dress design of Isabella Orsini, goddaughter of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconiand wife of Belgian Prince Edouardo de Ligne.
Initiating the speculation, London’s The Daily Mail dug up a photo of the lovely Isabella wearing her 2009 wedding dress which has a lace bodice and full skirt, similar in shape to Kate’s dress. Rubbish, we say. History shows that it was actually the gorgeous actress Grace Kelly who first originated the lace v-neck style gown during her wedding, a dress which was designed by Priscilla of Boston.
Each of the three dresses, while similar overall, are unique to each bride and were created by three unique designers. It is our opinion that hands down the winning design is Sarah Burton’s Alexander McQueen design that displays the right amount of intimate lace and simple pleating. Kate’s tiara is also much more delicate and attractive that Ms. Orsini’s.
When asked what the so-called copy design means, Orsini told Italian mag Novella 2000, “It means Kate Middleton has good taste.”
Who do you think wore it best?

Kate looks better and elegant anyday!
There’s simply no comparison. If you look more closely you will see that the upper lace portion of Isabella’s dress is actually a removable lace-bloero (mini lace jacket) which is worn overtop of a strapless, full A-line gown. The hem of Isabella’s dress has not a stitch of adornment while Kate’s includes a myriad of intricate lace design. Having said that, both women look extremely beautiful, stunning and happy!
of course ! kate look more elegant !
The dresses are very much alike but it is obvious that they were both by the wedding dress of Grace Kelly and this really obvious. And after all i don’t think that this is a crime. The important think was that she looked gorgeous in the dress.
Grace Kelly didn’t have a lace V-Neck. The bodice was a sweatheart style, but the lace was up to the neck.
