Guest Post – The UK Figurine Collective

Kate Middleton (and Prince William) looked fantastic on Friday and the whole ceremony went so perfectly. It really is what we do best. It made me proud to be British.

So many people were glued to their TVs, even those who said that they were not so interested found that a ‘quick look’ turned into a couple of hours of intense scrutiny of everything as it happened.

There have been lots of stories of designers rushing to make copies of the dress but one person, British sculptor John Bromley, had a different reason to study her in great detail than most. He now is right in the middle of producing a clay model that will be turned into a fine bone china figurine for The UK Figurine Collective. The finished piece will be about 9 inches high and made in a limited edition of just 795 world-wide. It will also be made in England not the Far East, like so many pieces of royal memorabilia.

John has a reputation for being one of the best royal portrait sculptors and his new work will be absolutely fabulous. A photo of his early-stage model shows already how good his likeness of Catherine Middleton will be. Now that her dress and bouquet has been revealed to the world, he is rushing to complete his model so that production can begin. The UK Figurine Collective has had many advance orders for the piece. The pre-sale popularity is based on John Bromley’s reputation as a great sculptor, his previous royal figures having sold in great numbers and by the photo of his new work, even at an early stage, being a true work of art.

If you would like to see photos of his unfinished work, have a look at the Figurine Collective’s website – www.figurinecollect.com/kate-middleton-figurine.html.
